(Open to graduates of Elmore County High School)
Established in memory of J. R. Southerland, this scholarship benefits graduates of Elmore County High School who choose to major in criminal justice in college. Eligible applicants will have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and plan to attend a two-year or four-year accredited college or university. Students who receive a scholarship for their freshman year of college may annually reapply for up to three additional years. Selection criteria will include involvement in community service. The amount and number of scholarships and amount given will be determined annually.
