CACF Welcomes New Financial Officer

October 1, 2018

The Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF) today welcomed its newest staff member to the organization.

Dana Hess will serve as the nonprofit’s Financial Officer and will oversee all of the financial and fiscal management aspects of the CACF’s operations.

In the new role, Hess will manage accounting functions that are critical to the Foundation’s financial sustainability and success. The CACF annually distributes more than $5 million in grants and scholarships and has assets of more than $65 million.

Hess graduated in 2005 from Auburn University Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Accounting and Information Systems. A board-certified public accountant, Hess has worked in tax services for the last twelve years at one of Montgomery’s largest certified accounting firms.

“Dana’s experience and expertise will serve CACF well as we look to grow our mission and impact in the River Region and Wiregrass,” CACF President Burton Crenshaw said. “For the last few years, our financial operations have been supported on contract.  With Dana’s knowledge of the financial software we use daily and tax benefits for donors, now is a unique time to bring the financial operations back in-house with a seasoned professional to manage the process.”

Hess is a member of several professional organizations including: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, Montgomery Estate Planning Council.  She is a 2015 graduate of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants Leadership Academy.

“The Central Alabama Community Foundation supports quality projects that strengthen our community for the better,” Hess said. “I am honored to join the CACF team, and I look forward to contributing to the organization’s impact by meeting its financial management needs.”
