The Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF) awarded $186,545.50 in Family, Food, and Medical Grants to River Region area nonprofits. The grant ceremony was held on May 11th at Wetumpka Depot Players in downtown Wetumpka.
This annual event celebrates and supports nonprofit organizations across Central Alabama that are addressing critical needs related to family stability, food security, and access to medical care. Through these targeted grant opportunities, CACF continues its mission of strengthening communities and improving quality of life throughout the River Region.

$7,000.00 to Society of St. Andrew to provide for freight, pack-out, and logistical costs of approximately 144,000 additional servings of produce to an estimated 3,600 families.
$10,000.00 to YMCA of Greater Montgomery to support food purchases to increase frequency and reliability of access to feeding programs.
$5,500.00 to Young Men on a Mission to support the Historic Nixon/Times Community Garden by providing for the purchase of plants, chicken feed and soil.

$5,000.00 to Child Protect to provide forensic interviews for 27 child victims and approximately 14 hours of counseling for clients.
$16,000.00 to District 3 Volunteer Fire Department to assist with the acquisition and deployment of a professional-grade medical monitor with AED/defibrillation capabilities for emergency response in rural Macon County.
$10,000.00 to Medical Outreach Ministries to support the expenses of medical supplies for uninsured, low-income adults in Montgomery and Lowndes Counties.
$5,000.00 to Samaritan Counseling Center to ensure access to mental health services by providing for 80 client sessions.

$2,500.00 to Child Protect to redesign its website to meet modern standards for security, accessibility, and client engagement.
$2,500.00 to Easter Seals Central Alabama to develop a new 3–5 year strategic plan to strengthen organizational effectiveness, improve program quality, expand access and sustain long-term services.
