The Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF) awarded more than $103,000 in Education Grants to nonprofit organizations serving local residents throughout the River Region. The grants were presented at a ceremony held on Wednesday, June 10, at the Britton YMCA.

These grants support educational initiatives that foster academic success and create brighter futures across Central Alabama. The event recognized the important work of organizations dedicated to strengthening communities through education.
2026 CACF EDUCATION GRANT RECIPIENTS
Central Alabama Community Foundation ($72,620.00)
$6,000.00 to Alabama Institute for Deaf & Blind Foundation to support the cost of two intensive 8-week ASL Bootcamp programs.
$10,000.00 to Big Brothers Big Sisters -Montgomery Satellite Office to support youth & mentor engagement activities, administrative costs and mentoring match for 20 new workplace-based matches at Capital Heights Middle School.
$15,000.00 to Girls on the Run South Central Alabama to subsidize five Title 1 school teams for the 2026–2027 school year at $150 per girl.
$11,620.00 to Hope Inspired Ministries to support classroom materials, transportation, internship costs, background checks, drug tests, counseling and housing for a 9 week workforce education program.
$20,000.00 to Montgomery Education Foundation to maintain current STARBASE Advanced afterschool program services for 6th–7th graders and enable expansion to every Montgomery County middle school.
$10,000.00 to Rosa Parks Museum at Troy University to support transportation, field trip admission fees and art supplies for the Architects of Change Summer Camp.
Autauga Area Community Foundation ($15,000.00)
$3,000.00 to Alabama Wildlife Federation to provide conservation education programs for Autauga County children.
$3,000.00 to Autauga County Family Support Center to support the purchase of evidence-based curriculum and training materials for four Family Programs.
$3,000.00 to Girls on the Run South Central Alabama to subsidize one Title 1 school team for the 2026–2027 school year at $150 per girl.
$3,000.00 to Liberty Learning Foundation to subsidize the Next Great American Tour Program, Libby Liberty and Celebration Event and program resources, materials and supplies.
$3,000.00 to Montgomery Education Foundation to support a part-time instructor and essential equipment to expand STARBASE Advanced to every Autauga County middle school.
Elmore County Community Foundation ($15,000.00)
$3,000.00 to Alabama Wildlife Federation to support scholarships for 176+ students to attend the Elmore County Water Festival.
$3,000.00 to Gateway Inc. to provide 20 Garden Kits, soil, compost, seeds, seedlings, garden and measuring tools, educator support stipends and program supplies.
$3,000.00 to Girls on the Run South Central Alabama to subsidize one Title 1 school team for the 2026–2027 school year at $150 per girl.

$500.00 to Holtville High School to provide 7 sewing machines, fabric and thread for the Visual Art I, II & III Program.
$500.00 to Wetumpka High School to purchase a selection of sheet music and acquiring music for various vocal ensembles.
