The Southeast Alabama Community Foundation (SACF) announced that the Half Marathon and 5K presented by Flowers Hospital has a new name, the Red Nose Run! This 8th Annual event is updated with a new course. Registration is open for the 2019 SACF Red Nose Run Half Marathon, 5K Fun Run set for Saturday, December 14, 2019.
The race raises funds for grants distributed by SACF to local nonprofits in the Wiregrass region of Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Houston and Henry counties. Grants are awarded in several areas of need including education, social services, health, youth development, the arts and community development. Last year, more than $30,000 was raised for local nonprofits.

Since 2010, SACF has distributed more than $286,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations in the Wiregrass. SACF houses approximately 26 funds including several scholarship funds which annually award more than $15,000
